Short report Landrover Defender 2006 from Johannesburg, South Africa:
Range (with my 25l extra tank I have 115l on board) 1000km. (usually avg. 750) Consumption 11.14 l/km (usually 14-16l, since we are 1600m above sea level and have a lot of uphill and downhill driving).
Handling is also great. Much livelier, much more torque in the lower revs. I now often drive in 5th gear where I would otherwise have used 3rd. (curvy motorway exits, etc.) Must probably have the idle speed readjusted because it is now unnecessarily high. I had just had a full service prior to the "assembly" (just popped in), so the RPM was optimized for "without ECOPower-Fuel-Saver".
Overall a gratifying thing.
